2016 is the year of superheroic ideological warfare. Heroes will be pitted against heroes in a battle over what they believe in. Team Cap vs Team Iron Man. Batman v Superman. And first up, Daredevil v Punisher. It's maybe not an exact parallel - neither character, but in particular Punisher, is as outright 'good' as a Captain America or Superman type figure, but then that will just make the fight even more intense, the stakes even higher. The Punisher perfectly summed up the difference between himself and Daredevil in the first trailer, when he remarked that the people Matt Murdock hits gets back up, but when he hits them they stay down. The death and destruction in Hell's Kitchen, the blood on the hands of Punisher, is what will drive the conflict between the two. However, it looks like Daredevil has one hell of a fight on his hands, with the trailers showing him getting a beatdown, and what's more, even considering that the Punisher's approach is the right one. Presumably at some point they'll need to team-up to take down a bigger foe, but until that happens, this is going to be multiple episodes of brutality, and it's going to be fantastic to watch.
