Deadwood: Ranking 15 Cast Members Worst To Best

3. Trixie

Deadwood HBO
HBO

Foul-mouthed and full of determination, Trixie is one of the best characters on the show. A prostitute at the Gem Saloon, she was Al's favourite girl and the two had an incredibly complex relationship. He could treat her with great affection or he could make her fearful for her life but there is no doubt that the two cared deeply for each other. It is nice to see that in the end, the final note of their relationship was not one of violence but one of Al leaving the Gem to Trixie after he dies.

Trixie's other key relationship of course, was of her developing romance with Sol Star. It was incredibly sweet to see Trixie slowly realise that Sol isn't just another man that wants her body but is a genuine person that loved her deeply. Having their wedding and birth of their first child was a smart centrepiece for Deadwood: The Movie as it showcased how far Trixie had come over the course of the show.

Often aggressive, sometimes violent, Trixie refused to be a damsel in distress and truly stood as an independent figure on her own two feet. Her scathing manner contrasted well with her compassionate nature to make for an incredible character with the best developed arc of the entire series.
