Deadwood: Ranking 15 Cast Members Worst To Best
12. Jack Langrishe
Jack Langrishe was a amazing addition to the season three cast. Jack moved to Deadwood with his theatre troupe in the hopes of bringing culture to the residents by exposing them to the arts. He planned to turn the former brothel-turned-school into a playhouse where his actors could perform for the locals.
Jack was an eccentric man who used flavourful language and flamboyant gestures to communicate with the more grounded members of the cast. Brian Cox brought a brilliant sense of other-worldliness to his performance as the larger-than-life character navigated his way through interactions with the very serious George Hearst.
He also has a long history with Al Swearengen which allowed for some great scenes where the two master socialites spar. Langrishe was a breath of fresh air in a final season that is rather bleak for the rest of the characters.
