Deathstroke: Knight & Dragons Review - 7 Ups & 1 Down From The Series Premiere
3. The Fight Scenes
If there's one thing that Deathstroke is renowned for, it's his ability to slay his competition - and whether that be when wielding a sword or just through your typical hand-to-hand combat, Slade knows how to finish people. And more often than not, the ensuing fight scenes make for damn good television.
Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons had a lot to live up to in terms of fight scenes, as we've seen Slade kick ass on Arrow, Titans, Young Justice and Teen Titans over the years, so naturally we we were all wondering if it too can bring the goods. But it does, in so many ways.
First thing's first, the episode surely doesn't skimp on its showdowns. For a premiere that relied so heavily on its authentic family drama, you'd think it wouldn't need so many fight scenes... and yet all of them feel completely plausible, slotting seamlessly into that drama in order to up the stakes.
Of all of them, Slade's rematch with Bronze Tiger may have been the most visually-pleasing as the fiery backdrop certainly complemented the animosity between the enemies, but the truth is that all of them were vivid and well-executed, bringing Deathstroke's gritty and unsettling approach to life in a highly effective way.
