Deathstroke: Knight & Dragons Review - 7 Ups & 1 Down From The Series Premiere
1. A Worthy Portrayal Of Deathstroke
Just who is Slade Wilson and why is he so beloved among comic book fans? Is he the villain that Arrow and Titans made him out to be, or is he a misunderstood hero doing what's necessary?
The fact of the matter is that there is no line separating Slade from right and wrong anymore because he can't be placed into one box or the other. Yes, the truth is that he's more of an antihero than anything else - and that's something that Knights & Dragons captures to perfection.
As the show highlights multiple times throughout, he may kill people for a living, but there's a limit to how far he's willing to go and he'll only do it if he feels that it's morally right - hence why he refuses to kill any women or children. Though far from a justification for his heinous actions, it does highlight how his mind works and, in that mind at least, showcases that he is more than just a villainous mercenary.
Slade Wilson is a complex character with a mind that works just as efficiently as his body and that is what ultimately allows him to cross the line between right and wrong whenever necessary - and Deathstroke: Knight & Dragons absolutely nails that characterisation.
This right here, this is the Deathstroke fans had been waiting for.
