The Defenders TV Show: 8 Supporting Characters We Want To See

2. Daimon Hellstrom aka Son of Satan

There was once a time in Marvel's history when a lesser known series called Marvel Spotlight created more than a bit of controversy due to its themes dealing with satanism and wicca. Birthed from the pages of Ghost Rider and raised to maturity by Marvel Spotlight was the character Daimon Hellstrom, the literal son of the Devil. As with Doctor Strange, Hellstorm would bring a much needed occult theme to the series. He has been a tangible member of the Defenders within their books and, unlike Strange, has a dark edge to him that would flesh his character out rather nicely. So why not just go with Ghost Rider then? In my own opinion, Daimon Hellstrom is far more interesting than any incarnation of Ghost Rider ever was. Whereas Ghost Rider may have been created as a herald for the Devil, Hellstorm is his son €“ his very flesh and blood. That adds layers to the character straight from the beginning as he turns away from his predestined duty as the Antichrist into a hero for all of mankind. Whereas the Avengers have always been the group of the biggest names coming together with any lesser known individual being skyrocketed to stardom upon joining, the Defenders have instead been a collection of the underrated - the outcasts within the superhero community. Daimon Hellstrom fits this trope perfectly, and would be incredibly amazing to see onscreen.
