Dexter Season 8: 5 Reasons It's Been Disappointing So Far

4. Too Much Quinn/ Jamie

quinn jamie dexter Quinn was brought in in Dexter season three as a replacement for the wise cracking Doakes, who had met his demise at the end of the second season. Doakes was one of the most popular characters in the show€™s first seasons and Quinn had some pretty big shoes to fill. Unfortunately for him, he failed, pretty miserably. Quinn has never really connected with the audience, whether it be as Deb€™s love interest, someone on Dexter€™s case or as a €˜shady€™ detective, his character is just a little annoying. However the writers don€™t appear to have realised this and this season we have seen more of Quinn than ever. This time he is with the equally pointless character of Jamie, Batistsa€™s sister. Now I€™ve got no problem with Jaimie, she is Harrison€™s baby sister and is a convenience the show requires; however forcing her into a main storyline is a little excessive, especially when there are more pressing matters at hand. There relationship is incredibly dull and the whole Sergeant story line lost most peoples interest before the end of its first episode. Call me cynical but I don€™t think I could warm to these two if I was being cremated with them. The sooner Dex loses his mind and whacks them on his table, the better.
