2. Rutger Hauer

In the late 1980s into early 90s another Doctor Who motion picture was in the works titled Doctor Who: Last of the Time Lords. Among the production crew was Mark Ezra, who wrote classic episodes like The Keeper of Traken and Arc of Infinity, and Johnny Byrne. Among their choice actors to play the Doctor was none other than Rutger Hauer. Rutger Hauer is well known for playing villainous roles like the anti-hero Roy in Blade Runner and Cardinal Roark in Sin City. His Doctor would have been dark and mysterious with an emphasis on the Doctor's sometimes questionable past. Much like Eddie Izzard's Doctor, companions would find it difficult to trust this incarnation. Come to think of it, Hauer would have made a great Master as well.
