9. Alien War
What the hell is this? Who are these people? Where is this planet--we never see places this built up except in map paintings! Where exactly was the Time War, and is this even it? Some people have speculated that the planet could be Gallifrey, but it looks and awful lot like Corusant to me, which doesn't really seem like the Time Lord's style. Also definitely not Skaro, based on what we saw both in Asylum of the Daleks and the classic episodes. Were other races drawn into the time war too? Not just destroyed on some astral plane, or losing their planets, but actually participating in the battles. Or is this planet just a battleground? A non-combatant planet where some people were just roped in. Then again, here's another idea: What if it's not the time war at all? What if it's some completely different war, related to the Time War but not actually the time war? Some total right hook, like an attempt by the Daleks around now to take over the universe?
