Doctor Who: 10 Questions Raised By Deep Breath

3. Is He Really Dead?

The answer to this is inextricably linked to whether or not the setting of the final scene is actually Heaven or not. But since all we have to go on is Missy€™s word and she certainly doesn€™t come across as a character you can trust, the question of whether or not the Half-Face Man survived is open to interpretation. Although he has a large number of flesh components, a lot of the Half-Face Man€™s body is still robotic and it is therefore likely that he could have survived being impaled on the Elizabeth Tower. Especially if somebody was able to recover to his body reasonably quickly and patch him up with extra organs or cybernetic components. The bottom line is that cyborgs are a lot harder to kill and easier to fix than humans. So until we get a true confirmation of his fate, the jury€™s still out on whether or not he€™s dead. We€™re still voting that he survived though.
