5. The Three/ Five Doctors Revisited
Perhaps this might seal the deal. With David Bradley on board there's easily scope to revisit a 'Five/Three Doctors' type storyline. Is it worth the effort, some may ask- it could be if done well. Imagine a version where Tom Baker actually comes aboard once more to play the Fourth. And if asked David Troughton and Sean Pertwee would more than likely jump at the chance to pay tribute to their fathers, the original 'dandy and a clown' as they were so witheringly described by their First incarnation. As 'The Light At The End' showed us vocal doubles can work so that's a viable option. It could also be considered as a TV minisode or anniversary special with the incumbent Doctor and any other interested former selves. There's any number of ways it could be done and indeed taken narratively. Perhaps if the newfound focus on Gallifrey lasts another trip into the Death Zone could represent a worthwhile gamble. But the beauty of the multi-Doctor special is that the format can be taken anywhere. And so perhaps its time to revisit the moment the First left Gallifrey for the last time.- a little cajoling from the men he'll become could either help seal the deal or set history onto a very different course.
