Doctor Who: 10 Rumours About The Day Of The Doctor We Hope Are True

1. Peter Capaldi's 12th Doctor Appears

Doctor Who Peter Capaldi The announcement of Peter Capaldi as The Doctor has generated excitement and controversy. Capaldi will be the oldest actor since William Hartnell to play The Doctor. Is he too old for the role? With a whole new generation of Doctor Who fans possibly lured in by the previous heart throb Doctors, is he the right person to take Doctor Who forward. More importantly, will a swear jar now have to be prominently displayed within the hallowed walls of the Tardis? With all the excitement surrounding his selection for the role, there must be some temptation to slip him into the 50th Anniversary's multi-Doctor story? He's appeared in the Doctor's universe before (Caecilius in The Fires of Pompeii and John Frobisher in Torchwood: Children of Earth) so why not have him pop in and add a little excitement to The Day of The Doctor? Other than the Watcher in Tom Baker's Logopolis, no future Doctor has ever appeared before his tenure commenced. This would represent a break from tradition and even if his appearance was little more than a walk on, it would have Whovians on the edge of their seat for the Christmas Special and Capaldi's official first appearance. While all of these rumors are great fun and I would love to see them become a reality, is it possible to squeeze it all in to one special? Whether it is or not, it is certainly fun to speculate! Which of the rumors swirling about the 50th Anniversary Special are you most hoping are true?
