Doctor Who: 10 Timey-Wimey Episodes (Not Written By Steven Moffat)
4. Day Of The Daleks - Louis Marks
A fan favourite, for viewers of a certain age, Day of the Daleks is the classic timey-wimey story. Guerillas from the future are sent back in time to make sure a peace conference comes to pass, the failure of which led to the Dalek occupation of Earth in their time, the 22nd century. The Daleks also travel back to exterminate the guerillas but instead the guerillas destroy them - as well as the location of the peace conference, thereby creating their own future. Thankfully, the delegates survive and, under the Doctor's guidance, the peace conference goes ahead - meaning the Daleks' timeline never happened. Following the type of time travel story now famous from The Terminator (which wouldn't be made for another eleven years), Day of the Daleks strikes a good balance between understandable plotting and timey-wimey complexities. Also it chucks Daleks into the bargain. What more could you want?
