Doctor Who: 10 Ways The Doctor Could Break The Regeneration Limit

7. Capaldi Is A Young First Doctor

William Hartnell Remember when the heart of the TARDIS opened in 'Boom Town' and converted that Slytheen into an egg? Well, what if it could do the same again? Peter Capaldi could be playing a younger version of the First Doctor. The heart of the TARDIS opens, there's a beam of bright light, and there stands Capaldi, wondering who he is, what he's doing in a big blue box, and speaking with the caressed tones of William Hartnell. It would reboot the show for the next fifty years, and give him a completely new path. Before you crucify me commenters, I'm aware it's a stupidly silly idea. It won't happen. It's one for a "what if" article. But just imagine for a second that it's not so ridiculous €“ the moment that Capaldi thumbed his lapels, Hartnell-esque in Doctor Who: Live, would be some foreshadowing.
