Doctor Who: 11 Iconic Things From Matt Smith's Era

8. Fez

Doctor Who Fez You will never see someone who is cosplaying Eleven without a fez. Why? Because for some reason, the fez became synonymous Matt€™s Doctor. I have no idea how he did it, how the reasoning came about for there to even be a fez in the costume department or whose idea it was, but to be blunt, it was brilliant. Somehow, Matt, Steven, the costuming department, or whoever picked up the fez and brought it to our attention. They summed up Eleven in an accessory, and it was simply brilliant. With the fez also came the phrase €œI wear a ____ now. _____ are cool.€ This is Eleven€™s allons-y, and before you argue with me, he doesn€™t say Geronimo often enough anymore! He says it about multiple things, including a Stetson, bowties, and he even yells €˜Monks are NOT COOL!€™ in the beginning of series seven when he€™s trying to change. However, even though he wears multiple hats and this is only one of them, the Fez is what really sums up who this Doctor is. The Fez is an odd choice for a hat, but fits Eleven well because it€™s just so €“ silly. And it reminds us that in the midst of this huge story arc and big problem that was going on €“ we still had our funny Doctor at the end of everything. At the end of everything, he would always be there with a Fez.

I'm currently attending my local college while trying to figure out who I am. I love Doctor Who, Sherlock, really any BBC show. I've also been told I'm a bit of a nerd. Specifically, a theatre nerd.
