2. The Dalek Dance
Like the Dalek stairs fallacy, there seems to be an oddly enduring image of the robo-villains as partial to a bit of a dance, which is somewhat at odds with their image as ruthless, calculating killing machines. While the instances of dancing haven't really blighted the TV show per se, the Daleks iconic status meant that even back in the '70s they were sought out for other TV appearances, such as this infuriatingly quaint showing on kids' show Vision On, in which the blood-thirsty killers dance in formation. Way to destroy your credentials as killing machines there, Daleks.
1. That Time They Did A Porno
Not content with the inevitable phallic jokes aimed at their flailing appendages, the Daleks famously went one step further by starring in horrific porn parody Dr Loo & The Filthy Phaleks, which featured such "clever" puns as the TURDIS, and a source-confusing appearance by Empress Minge The Merciless. They might have been hiding under a new name, but there's no ignoring the design, and it's hardly the best content for the brand manager of the Daleks.
