1. Bring In The New
As much as we all love the past references and nostalgia that bringing back old enemies and companions has to offer (well be feasting on plenty with the 50th), the main thing I want with the Twelfth Doctor is the new. The Daleks will obviously return, as they should, and the Master is now overdue another crack at world domination, but seeing Twelve encounter brand new civilisations and aliens, touching down on a planet and having no idea whats going on, and then having to work out what the hecks going on, will definitely be exciting and cement this Doctor as a true intergalactic time- travelling hero. There are rumours of Draconians returning (a Jon Pertwee-era foe), and thats fine, but Doctor Who thrives on change, and with a new Doctor theres an opportunity to implement that change. The Paternoster gang of Madame Vastra, Jenny and Strax are also returning, but I like them, so thats fine. But hopefully these are around to seamlessly bridge the Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors eras together, yet as we get further into Capaldis (possibly with a new show runner after series 8?) well be seeing some new threats, and some new monsters to become as iconic as the Daleks and th Cybermen, to terrorise the Doctor and his companions for the next fifty years.
