Billed as the Doctor's 200th story (though there is still some controversy surrounding that suggestion), this Easter special - a departure for the specials in itself - this classic Russell T Davies episode wasn't universally loved on broadcast, but did deserve ample praise in places. The monsters were great, the story a typical Davies concoction and the drama smart, but the overall feeling was one of slight hollowness despite the major audience figures. Lee Evans pretty much stole the show with a wonderful guest star performance as Malcolm too. Including repeats in the following week and viewings on the BBC iPlayer, 13.89 million viewers watched the episode in total.
