Doctor Who: 15 Most Watched Episodes Of New Who

9. Journey€™s End - 10.57m

A misdirection of a title and an unexpected near-end for David Tennant before he defied expectations of regeneration to stay around were the major memorable parts of this cross-over event culmination that saw Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures characters appear alongside the Doctor. Journey's End was the culmination of all four series that led up to it, with resolutions and continuations of story elements from all of them, and of course came with the added bonus of another Doctor. At times confusing and over-written, this was a truly busy episode, and one that definitely fit Davies' continued attempts to make "epic" episodes. It felt like demented, delirious fan-fiction, but that wasn't always an issue, even if the image of the Earth being towed was a little difficult to take. The episode was screened free in Trafalgar Square in London as part of Pride London 2008.
