Another special that came with a prequel, this smaller scale Christmas special was critically praised, particularly for how well it suited the festive screening slot. Yes, the ecology warrior message was a bit blatant, but the cast of characters and the emotional moments more than made up for that, and it always felt like an episode perfectly pitches for Christmas. The plot was a little flimsy, but the spirit and tone of the episode were enough to compensate for that: it was an indulgent as Christmas pudding, and as immediately satisfying, even if you wouldn't necessarily enjoy it as much throughout the rest of the year. Perhaps the comedy cast could have been used more and better, but as specials go, it was pretty note perfect for the time.
