3. The Snowmen - Steven Moffat
The 2nd Christmas Special on this list, the Snowmen was the first episode to fully feature Clara as a companion, and as stated before I still wish it was this Clara who was in Series 7. We also saw a different side to the Doctor, after having lost his beloved Ponds he retreats to the clouds with his new-look TARDIS. The stairs leading up to the clouds is definitely an iconic image, and brings back the more fairytale element of the Eleventh Doctor's tenure. The Great Intelligence is a good villain, and Sir Ian McKellen as the voice is inspired. Vastra, Jenny and Strax are again a welcome addition to the team and provide some good laughs as always. The mystery of the Impossible Girl is put on the back burner here, so we get to see Clara as more of a person in this episode. Clara's inquisitive nature and ability to rival the Doctor was most welcome, and it's a shame some of the better character traits didn't rub off on modern day Clara.
