Doctor Who: All 17 Series 7 Episodes & Special Ranked
8. A Town Called Mercy - Toby Whithouse
One thing about this episode that must be said about this episode is that the music was absolutely fantastic. Now I've got that mild love affair off my chest, onto the episode itself. To be honest, there's not much to say other than it was a solid if not exactly spectacular episode. The morals surrounding the Gunslinger and why he can't enter the town were a bit sketchy at times but other than that A Town Called Mercy was a good and engaging experience. The darker themes surrounding it show off more of the Eleventh Doctor's darker side, and how he doesn't mind using a gun or being more violent than his predecessor. The Gunslinger and Kahler Jex are also good as villains, with some heavy hitting themes running throughout. But it's just missing a little spark to really push it up the ranks.
Jake lives in a small town in England with nothing much to do besides watch far too much television, play games and occasionally have a cup of tea. His favourite things to do are play the guitar and eat scones. Follow him at @_jakelennon if you wish.
