Doctor Who: 25 Actors Who'd Make Great Companions

12. Ingrid Oliver

Another character who appeared in Doctor Who, Osgood, has been mentioned as a possible companion in the future. From a story point of view, Osgood could be a mystery to the Doctor, over where she acquired his scarf, and how she knows him. As an actress though, Ingrid Oliver almost played the part of an ordinary fan in 'The Day of the Doctor'; she was awestruck by him, shy and timid. If she was to appear again in the show, it would interesting for her to develop as a character, and show the braveness that she did when fighting Zygons. Or maybe, the Doctor could find her before the events of 'The Day of the Doctor', and that's how she acquired the scarf?

11. Ellen Page

One of only a few North Americans on this list - a lot of core British Who fans massively dislike the idea of an American companion - Canadian Ellen Page would be a frontrunner, should the Doctor travel with someone from overseas. Massively down-to-earth and dryly funny, Page would be perfect in that sort of role, even if it was a Canton-like guest appearance during a trip across the pond. And as her roles in Juno and Inception are anything to go by, she'd have an intriguing and unpredictable relationship with a Time Lord. Another actress more likely to stay in Hollywood though, it doesn't seem like Page will be in Who any time soon.
