Doctor Who: 5 Unexpected Things In The Time Of The Doctor

1. Amy€™s Reappearance €“ Thanks, I Wasn€™t Using That Heart.

If you weren€™t crying already and applauding yourself on how strong you were during a regeneration episode €“ there's every chance that you totally broke down when Amelia and Amy appeared right before the Doctor regenerated. The reappearance, which defied expectations that the Ponds would never again appear, was profoundly affecting, and Moffat deserves heady plaudits for it. I think €œRaggedy Man, Goodnight€ will be the new €œYou€™re going to have a great year,€ meaning that Steven Moffat just outwrote one of the last lines of the end of an era. Never underestimate the Moff. He did follow a pattern though: Rose was the first and last face that Nine and Ten saw, and little Amelia and Amy were the first and last faces that the Doctor saw, like he said in Let€™s Kill Hitler. Amelia Pond was the one person he believed he didn€™t screw up. Maybe that was a dream he always had as well as Amy €“ to have little Amelia running around the TARDIS, decorating it with pictures. And then of course the gasp heard round the world when Amy appeared and consoled him before he regenerated. Now, whether that was only a character consoling or actors helping each other out, it was one of the purest moments of love I have ever seen on Doctor Who. I can€™t imagine the Doctor would want to regenerate alone again, and this time he had his best friend in his head, and his Impossible Girl in as close as possible. Now, don€™t tell me Moffat didn€™t write an exceptional regeneration episode. What did you think of The Time Of The Doctor? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.

I'm currently attending my local college while trying to figure out who I am. I love Doctor Who, Sherlock, really any BBC show. I've also been told I'm a bit of a nerd. Specifically, a theatre nerd.
