Doctor Who: 50 Unanswered Questions

15. Which Doctor Fought Fenric Originally?

Doctor Who - Fenric 17 centuries before "The Curse of Fenric" The Doctor battled the malevolent Fenric, defeated him in a game of chess and trapped him in a flask that was later stolen by the Vikings and buried in a church in Northumberland. It is not explained which Doctor had battled the ancient creature and as a time traveler it could have been any Doctor at anytime between his adventures. Could this have been an incident experienced by the 1st Doctor prior to "An Unearthly Child?" Could The Doctor have defeated Fenric in the much speculated about 6B series on a mission at the behest of the Time Lords? Or could it have happened during one of the 4th Doctor's solo adventures? Based on Fenric's recognizing The Doctor by face, the most logical answer is that the 7th Doctor was Fenric's jailer, but the door has been left open.

14. Why Did Ace Leave The Doctor?

Doctor Who Ace When we last saw Dorothy Gale McShane, she was strolling off into the sunset with the 7th Doctor. In his final story, the 7th Doctor was traveling alone. Later in "The Death of The Doctor," Sarah Jane Smith reveals that "Dorothy something" had formed a charity called A Charitable Earth and had "...raised billions." But what led to Ace and The Doctor parting company? Had the Doctor determined that his final trip to Skaro was too dangerous to take Ace? Had The Doctor been summoned to Gallifrey and like Sarah Jane Smith in "The Hand of Fear," been unable to take her with him? Had Ace simply tired of The 7th Doctor's secretive and scheming nature? I guess we'll never know.
