Doctor Who Series 8: 10 Moments We're Most Looking Forward To

10. The T-Rex Attacks €“ Episode 1

BBCBBCIt€™s this kind of moment when Doctor Who is at its best. The times when whoever€™s writing an episode just says €œsod it€, takes a mad idea, and runs with it. A tyrannosaurus rex rampaging around Victorian London is a concept as utterly bizarre as something like Sharknado, but for Doctor Who, it works. There€™s a madness and lack of logic to it but it€™s one that makes perfect sense for a programme so wonderfully bonkers. It€™s also an excellent scenario in which to place the Doctor in the immediate aftermath of a Regeneration (especially one that shouldn€™t be scientifically possible) because it won€™t allow him to have the occasional slow moment to get his bearings. A dinosaur attacking London is a situation where time is of the essence and not acting quickly enough could cost lives. Which is the perfect kind of difficult problem for a Regeneration-addled Doctor to face. There€™s also an opportunity for some good comedic scenes at the same time as fast-paced action. Strax trying to single-handedly kill a dinosaur the size of Big Ben would be a golden comedy moment.
