Doctor Who Series 8: 10 Reasons The Valeyard Is The Perfect Villain

1. It's Time For The Valeyard To Appear

The biggest reason the Valeyard would be perfect for series 8--or any future series, for that matter--is that it is time for him to appear. When the Master explains the Valeyard's identity in The Trial of a Time Lord, he explicitly states that the Valeyard was created somewhere between the Doctor's twelfth and final incarnation. Steven Moffat's modifications to the storyline mean that the Doctor's number no longer accurately reflects which regeneration he's on, but it's safe to say that, yes, the Doctor has reached or passed his twelfth incarnation, so the Valeyard probably isn't too far behind. Now it's just a question of time as to when he will make his appearance. Can you think of any more reasons the Valeyard is the perfect villain for series 8? Let us know in the comments box!
