Doctor Who Series 8: 15 Obscure Easter Eggs You Probably Missed

3. The Creator Of The Blinovitch Limitation Effect (Kill The Moon)

Courtney Woods, the Coal Hill School student who is far from insignificant, has an exciting future ahead of her; she'll be the first woman on the moon and inexplicably become President of America. Oh, and on top of that, she'll marry someone who's rather important in the history of time-travel. The Doctor flippantly mentions she'll end up with some "fella called Blinovitch", which is one of the most exciting easter eggs this season; he's the namesake of the Blinovitch Limitation Effect, a theory that has been central to Doctor Who since Third Doctor story Day Of The Daleks. Essentially forbidding the crossing of one's own timeline, the theory has popped up in a few Nu-Who episodes, most prominently Father's Day. The mid-series introduction of Courtney got some Whovians speculating at some complex game-plan; could this young girl, who is shown taking a distinct interest in the Doctor, be a future companion, possibly set to replace Jenna Coleman? Evidently not, but she's still quite important in the mythos.
