Doctor Who: Six Reasons To Revive The 6th And 7th Doctors

3. The Other Three Got A Turn

When it comes to featuring classic series Doctors, new Who should do it completely or not at all. Having played the most iconic incarnation, it was fitting that Tom Baker was the one representing (albeit briefly) the original show during the anniversary special. Paul McGann was brought in as a treat to old and new fans alike to finally bridge the gap between the two and reintroducing Peter Davison was a transparent excuse to let David Tennant fanboy over his favourite Doctor. These are all valid reasons to bring back their incarnations, but it does a disservice to the two men who upheld Who under trying times not to give them a go. Overlooking how screwed over Colin Baker was during his era, you could write a book about the drawn-out death throes of Doctor Who when Colin and Sly were the faces of the show. Though it's neither of their faults, they're often unfairly maligned for the downfall of the show. Both went to extreme lengths both in their performance onscreen and their efforts elsewhere (see 'Doctor in Distress') to keep interest in the show alive, fighting against poor scripts and outright hostility to the show from upstairs. They did their very best to uphold the show against all this and deserve to be recognised for it.
