Doctor Who: 10 Actors Who Should Be Capaldi's Next Companion

7. Zoƫ Tapper

Earmarked as a potential guest star for the Matt Smith era, Tapper is perhaps the most qualified actress to step into the TARDIS. Her telefantasy CV stretches far and wide - best known as Anya in the BBC reboot of Survivors (in which she saw in the breakdown of society by, erm... snogging Freema Agyeman), she also appeared in the witch drama Hex and portrayed a queen of the undead in a short lived action horror series called Demons. She then stepped behind the microphone for the reimagining of Blake's 7 on audio. Costume drama Mr Selfridge was her most recent high profile port of call and Tapper went back in time again for art saga Desperate Romantics. As far as what type of companion she could be, there's a wealth of possibilities, judging by her sheer breadth of performance. Some sort of vampire character is perhaps the strongest option, creating an edgy companion for the prickliest of Time Lords.
