Doctor Who: 10 Amazing TV Show Crossovers Fans Want To See

6. Torchwood

This is probably the entry that most Torchwood fans would be clamouring for. It’s not necessarily accepted that all Torchwood fans are Doctor Who fans and visa versa, but the majority of the Torchwood fan base will have first met Captain Jack back in the first series of Nu Who. There’s something to be said for keeping The Doctor out of Torchwood’s business. For a start, who needs Torchwood when The Doctor is around? Secondly, with all the goings on in the Universe, The Doctor is unlikely to keep popping up in modern day Cardiff.

Still, it would be a beautiful premise to watch The Doctor outside of his normal central role. He would be integral to the story, but on this occasion the heroes would still be the Torchwood team - it is, after all, their party. The secret to this success would be the manor in which The Doctor would appear. Even a cameo, much like in the Sarah Jane Adventures, would give a feeling that the shows were still some how connected, without people asking why The Doctor didn't just save the day. Miracle Day, for example, would have allowed The Doctor to be involved whilst still requiring the need for Captain Jack's central role.

A new story involving The Doctor could be pretty straight forward in reality - The team investigate the appearance of a Blue Box in Central Cardiff. When they arrive, jack is excited at the prospect of once again coming face to face with The Doctor. The Time Lord, however, is nowhere to be found. The TARDIS, trusting Captain Jack after their numerous meetings, allows him and his team inside allowing them to use the it as a makeshift base. Their investigations could surround finding The Doctor, as they encounter his Companion, and - stealing a story from current Doctor Who lore - they could find him working in a shop, his Time Lord essence having been absorbed into a Pocket Watch currently in the possession of some new threat. Captain Jack and Team save The Doctor and The Doctor helps destroy this new threat. He is involved without taking over the show, and his involvement in the conclusion would be less significant in light of the Torchwood Team having restored him to Time Lord Greatness.

Just an idea...
