Doctor Who: 10 Awesome Moments From Series 6's US Two-Parter

3. The Abandoned Spaceship

When the Silence kidnapped Amy, they removed her nano-recorder, which was a mistake on their part since her brain was still connected to the recorder. The Doctor subsequently used it to track the location of where the Silence were holding her. This turned out to be an abandoned spaceship that seemed vaguely familiar... until the Doctor realised it was exactly like the ship that had disguised itself as part of Craig Owens' flat in the previous season's episode The Lodger. Little information about the spaceship's owner had been revealed in The Lodger. The Doctor hypothesised that it had crashed there long ago with no apparent survivors. The ship's computer had been trying to find a new pilot ever since in an attempt to get back to its home base. Seeing an identical spaceship as the hideout of the Silence raised several interesting possibilities. Could the ship in Craig's flat have originally belonged to the Silence, or did the Silence simply take it from another culture? If they had taken it from another culture, exactly how many planets have they been controlling?
