10. Sutekh
Im starting off with a cheat, because Sutekh has already been basically reimagined before in the The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pits The Beast, showing us what a combination of The Destroyer (a bound-up Satanic being encountered by Sylvester McCoys Doctor) and the subject of this title, an omnicidal god-like force. However, just because its been done once before doesnt mean it cant be done again in a different way. After all, David Tennant ran down plenty of corridors in his time, but we never got bored of that. In fact, getting Sutekh involved might yield an advantage The Beast never had namely, unlike that great big horned monstrosity, we actually have some history of Sutekh bound in the stories of Egyptian mythology. Yes, I loved The Beast and the whole uncertainty surrounding his existence, but to frame a similar tale in different circumstances. Namely, we know exactly what Sutekh is capable of he can change time and space, mentally break people, manipulate and read thoughts. He can ever re-animate the dead. If anything, having such a gigantic toolbox of attributes linked up to an already-rich mythology could leave you with enough ingredients to concoct an excellent story no matter what.
