Doctor Who: 10 Best NuWho Episodes

8. The End Of Time

It was the end of time and the end of an almighty chapter in TV history in David Tennant's spectacular swansong which pushed Doctor Who's boundaries as a family teatime drama further than ever before. The Master was back, the Time Lords had returned and, after a climactic showdown with Rassilon himself, it all came down to a heartbreaking and noble sacrifice as the Tenth Doctor gave his life to save fan favourite Wilfred Mott. There wasn't a dry eye in the house as our beloved hero uttered his infamous final words and it made for one of the most memorable regeneration sequences in Doctor Who history. He didn't want to go and there were 12 million viewers who didn't want him to go, either. All good things must come to end, of course, and the Tenth Doctor went out as he was always going to, with an almighty bang. And the moment had certainly been prepared for. As always, though, the end was only just the beginning.
