Doctor Who: 10 Big Questions After The Witch's Familiar

3. What Was The Doctor's Plan For Getting Out Of Davros's Trap?

There was a certain ingenuity in the Doctor using his regeneration energy to revive the decaying Dalek slime beneath the city and unleash on the citizens above. But it was also a very dangerous plan; revitalising Davros and the Daleks too to seemingly unstoppable strength. The real question is how the Doctor actually plan to escape the trap set for him alone.

Yes Missy saved him, but if you remember at this point he believer both her and Clara was dead. So assuming that the Doctor thought he was truly alone, how did he plan to break free before the Daleks became unstoppable? Was it all a gamble that the Dalek 'slime' would overwhelm them? Was he willing to give up his life just to stop Davros?

In an arguably excellent episode it is the one plot twist that leaves the audience scratching their heads.
