Doctor Who: 10 Characters From Other TV Shows Who Would Make Terrible Companions

main pic Ever wondered how some characters would fare as assistants on Doctor Who? Some are loveable, genuine or hilarious people, who easily fit into the role. The best of those can be seen in my previous article. However, some characters are just€ awful. I€™m not talking those who are already villainous or seen as the bad guy in their respective shows. I mean likeable characters that we would love to see on-board the TARDIS, but for some reason, they€™d just be useless. Whether they€™re bumbling idiots, too self-absorbed for their own good or are far too evil, they have been selected. Read on to find out who these 10 characters who would make terrible companions are....

10. Dr. Elliot Reid €“ Scrubs

elliot The Doctor travelling with a Doctor? Okay, it€™s less of a big deal since all the good jokes were taken in series three when he travelled with the nearly, but not quite, qualified doctor, Martha Jones. Still, he likes a companion who is clever and interesting: Dr. Elliot could certainly provide this. But would she be any good on-board? Probably not. Her total lack of social skills means that she€™s forever eating her words, which is one thing in a hospital when lives don€™t totally depend on her awkward persona. However, when there€™s a tense confrontation with a monster whom is set on the destruction of worlds, any error could cost thousands of lives. It€™s not just her awkwardness that would get her into trouble either; Elliot€™s knack for cheering people up is atrocious, not only is she considered a little cold-hearted in regard to her patients, her inspirational stories are also a little depressing. When a small child is found, scared and alone, it is the companions€™ job to talk to them and make them feel better. How can Elliot do this when all of her stories end in suicide? She€™d just give the Doctor more work to do when the child clung to him, now afraid of Elliot too. Although she€™s talented and her medical skills would surely be of benefit, Dr. Elliot Reid would be better staying in the hospital in case she caused major galactic wars and severely depressed survivors due to her terrible social skills.
