Doctor Who: 10 Characters Ready For A Spin-Off

2. The Master

master We could call it Master Who. I think that's game, set, and match, but if you need more convincing, so be it. Imagine a show where we follow around this lovably daft villain who hatches extraordinarily convoluted plots, only to be foiled by his own ineptitude more than anything else. The Master is well known for his laboriously detailed evil schemes (and the disguises that go along with them), so the more outrageous the better. It's a writer's dream. Any plotlines that might be considered too outlandish or just plain silly for mainstream Doctor Who could be safely brought to life via Master Who. I imagine that the New York Times might dub it, "gloriously campy" in their initial review of the show. Because really, that's the end game when it comes to anything involving the Master, right? But before we head down this road, I need to make something abundantly clear: this role will not be played by Benedict Cumberbatch. He's a wonderfully talented actor, but seriously, I feel like I need to get ahead of that idea before it snowballs.
