Doctor Who: 10 Characters Who Should Return For Russell T Davies New Series

8. Jenny

Torchwood Gwen Gun
BBC

Jenny was the Doctor's daughter. She was born when the Doctor touched a machine that used his DNA to create her during the war on Messaline. Soldiers were made using these machines and were born as adults, ready for war.

Jenny proved to be a great character with superhuman athleticism, high intellect and a strong sense of adventure. The Doctor's daughter asked if she could travel with the Doctor, and he was more than happy with the idea. However, when they reached the Source, which was the cause of the war between the humans and the Hath, everything went very wrong.

The Doctor demanded that the war end and General Cobb tried to shoot him. Jenny jumped in the way and took the bullet herself. It was a tragic moment that shook the Doctor, and he left Jenny behind, believing her dead.

By some miracle, Jenny returned to life and stole a shuttle. She flies off into the universe to have adventures across the stars. There is a Big Finish audio series following Jenny's adventures after escaping Messaline, but to see her return in live-action would be a welcome treat.

Simon is a writer, cat dad and presenter of a geeky radio show with his husband. He loves Doctor Who (except 10 who can get in the bin…only joking.) He idolises Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Lara Croft and would 100% be a Sith Lord in a galaxy far, far away. He wishes life was like a musical so he’d actually be a good singer.
