Doctor Who: 10 Deleted Scenes You Have To See
8. Jenny Takes The Bullet
The death of the Doctor's sort of daughter (if you can call someone who was artificially created in a progenation machine using a sample of your DNA your daughter - where is Jeremy Kyle when you need him?) at the end of Series 4s The Doctor's Daughter was arguably one of the most heartbreaking moments of David Tennant's TARDIS tenure but it was originally an even sadder - and not to mention longer - affair altogether.
No sooner than the Tenth Doctor had accepted Jenny as his own she was cruelly taken away from him long before her time when she heroically took a bullet which had been intended for her father and subsequently ended up dying in his arms. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. Before being cut down for the final episode, Jenny's poignant death scene originally included an extended exchange about the life they could've had together.
It's not really clear why most of this conversation ended up on the cutting room floor but maybe it was something to do with the fact that Jenny was taking an awfully long time to die. She didn't pop her clogs for long, though, because - and unbeknownst to the Doctor - she sprung back to life at the end of the episode and stole a shuttlecraft o embark on adventures anew.
Like father, like daughter. Speaking of which...
