Doctor Who: 10 Dubious Morals That Series 8 Taught Us

3. Your Interior Decor Says A Lot About You

BBCBBCIt's a fairly significant plot point in Flatline that what the characters all assume to be a rather inoffensive piece of modern art on an apartment wall actually turns out to be the mortal remains of the apartment's inhabitant. Like so much else in the story, this just underscores how important what you choose to hang on your walls is when it comes to making a good impression on others. Just think about the message that your furnishings send to others. The right piece of art can convey so many things. Susan likes muted colors, Doug relates to impressionist imagery, this is Don's Alimentary canal, etc. The metaphor is taken even further in this episode when the impression left artistically by the people who have disappeared turns out to actually be the people who have disappeared. So, be cautious about the image of yourself that you project through your home furnishings. It might just be chasing your friends and neighbours down the street one day.
