6. The Doctor Had A Great Grandson
This will definitely come as a shock for casual Whovians. In the special release, An Earthly Child, the Eighth Doctor found himself revisiting his granddaughter Susan. The events of this tale were set twenty years after The Dalek Invasion of Earth, with Susan having married David Campbell and given birth to a son, Alex.
Sadly, David had died several years prior to this story, but at the very least Alex was able to finally meet his great grandfather, learning more of his heritage and family history.
This led to a further encounter with the Eighth Doctor in his own range, starting with Relative Dimension, before his tragic demise in the two part finale Lucie Miller/To the Death.
Yeah, death does seem to follow the Doctor around, resulting in a cold final scene with Susan as the Time Lord contemplated his countless failings.
