Doctor Who: 10 Fictional Characters The Doctor Should Meet

6. Dad's Army

Now why hasn€™t this happened already? Imagine how much better the Curse of Fenric would have been if the Doctor and Ace had turned up at Walsingham on Sea instead of at Maiden€™s Point? The Russians could easily be replaced by Philip Madoc€™s U-boat commander and crew. That seduction scene with Ace would have been much better if poor Private Pike had been on duty. €œWhat€™s she doing Uncle Albert? I feel all tingly!€ Who would have suspected that the haughty verger was in fact Fenric? €œWhat€™s your name?€ he would have asked Ace. €œDon€™t tell him, Ace,€ the Doctor would have replied. The ending, with the Doctor having a grenade put down the back of his trousers on a string would have been tremendous, as would the Doctor allowing Corporal Jones to join the TARDIS team. Which viewer wouldn€™t have loved to hear the line, €œThose Cybermen don€™t like it up €˜em!€
