10 Great Doctor Who Moments From The Brain Of Morbius

Tom Baker classic turns 39.

This month, fan favourite The Brain of Morbius turns 39 years old. This anniversary just so happens to coincide with the 81st birthday of fourth Doctor himself Tom Baker. The first episode of The Brain Of Morbius aired on the 3rd January 1976 and what would unfold on screen would go down in Doctor Who history as one of the greatest stories ever televised. Whovians speak of The Brain of Morbius in near reverent tones, as though viewing the story is a right of passage which welcomes new fans into the world of full-fledged Whovianism. The fact that the story is a finely crafted serial from what many view to be the golden age of vintage Doctor Who only adds to the level of fan appreciation. The microcosmic feeling created in the story makes for a memorable, near claustrophobic sensation which sticks in the living memory of the Whovian fandom. This stylised interpretation of an alien world creates a sense of urgency which lends the 100 minute run time a sense of break-neck speed while simultaneously fleshing out every aspect of the story. In order to give both Tom Baker and The Brain of Morbius the celebration they deserve, here are 10 of the greatest moments from The Brain of Morbius. Read on to see what takes the top spot...
