Doctor Who: 10 Historical Events To Steer Clear Of

7. Bombing of Hiroshima

Hiroshima1945 Of things not to show on Doctor Who, this is probably a very sensitive issue to many people still. The devastation the atomic bomb left on Hiroshima was absolutely horrific. Now Doctor Who has been known to do episodes on war, whether it be galactic or just on Earth against Silurians or aliens trying to destroy mankind to take over the planet, but they really haven't done much on the side of war. Which is good, because again, there is that small group that takes an interest in that particular area of history. But this particular moment should be avoided if possible. The effects of the atomic bomb were extremely graphic, and it is completely unnecessary to show this kind of violence on Doctor Who. Besides, people who complained about the violence in Doctor Who back in the nineteen seventies, they would really have it in for the show if they aired a scene like the above picture. People do want to see a lot of historical episodes as well as off-the world episodes, but some of our history can be left to the big screen movies or even books.
