7. Jesse Eisenberg
Like Sam Neill, I picked Jesse Eisenberg for the fact that he can do both comedic and serious roles very well. But when it comes down to it, he can pull off the serious side more as shown in his Oscar nominated role in The Social Network. In general, Eisenberg has the right personality as well as the look to pull off a larger than life Doctor. His small afro will remind nostalgic fans of Tom Baker's infamous portrayal as well as new younger fans who have been a fan of his comedies such as Zombieland & Adventureland. Doctor Who fans in general may also embrace Eisenberg's prescience as The Doctor as well given that he himself has an impressive field of work not just in acting, but in writing and directing on the stage too. Plus, Eisenberg could benefit from a role like Doctor Who, one which could potentially put him on a bigger stage in Hollywood and could also increase his box office potential with audiences.
