9. Kaftan and Eric Klieg - Tomb Of The Cybermen
In the realm of stupid mistakes, Kaftan and Klieg take the crown for one of the most foolish schemes ever concocted in Doctor Who. They want to take over the Earth and rule humanity. They haven't (we assume) gotten a foothold in politics or the military. But they do have wealth. So they concoct a plan; travel to the feared planet Telos and awaken the Cybermen from their icy tombs. Having an unstoppable army at your disposal is one surefire way to beat the opposition, but a race who have just one mindset; turn humanity into a race of Cybermen and destroy anyone who gets in their way? What Kaftan and Kleig actually plan to do once they wake up the Cybermen is a little unclear. Kleig attempts to reason with them, offering up humanity as a tasty morsel...but then? Do Kaftan and Kleig want to rule over a planet of Cybermen? Do they not think the Cybermen will not turn on them afterwards? Frankly, Kaftan and Kleig are idiots. They wake up a hornets nest and die as a result. Still it could have been worse. They could have tried leading an expedition to Skaro...
