Could the Doctor commit the genocide of the Daleks? It was an idea that started with Genesis Of The Daleks and was a pivotal part of the Time War. It was certainly an idea that returned in The Magician's Apprentice. But this time, it actually appeared as if the Doctor would see it through for the second time, but not with the destruction of the Daleks but the murder of the young child Davros.

Returning to the battlefield on ancient Skaro, Dalek gun in hand and fuelled with rage over the death of Clara, Missy and the TARDIS, this huge moment provided a shocking cliffhanger to start the new series on. Will he see it through, changing history irrevocably?

Like those deaths, this remains the big question for next week's episode.

The Magician's Apprentice certainly set up series nine in style, delivering shocks, twists and plenty of revelations. What are your thoughts on those big moments? Please let us know in the comments below...
