Doctor Who: 10 Lost Stories We Hope Have Been Found

1. The Wheel In Space

doctor whio I can€™t wait to watch The Tenth Planet even with its animated finale (though maybe if episode four has been returned€) and that€™s because the Cybermen for me are at their best and most menacing in old black and white Doctor Who. In Tomb Of The Cybermen they are the most chilling, and in The Invasion, the most menacing. So for me, my final choice has to be The Wheel Of Space. The other lost tale of these cybernetic foes, The Moonbase is apparently little more than a retread of their debut adventure so I€™ll count that one out. The Wheel Of Space is also the debut adventure for the sassy and intelligent Zoe, who formed a great dynamic with the Doctor and Jamie in the final Second Doctor series. Only episodes three and six (of six) remain, so there is a lot of missing story from this one. Seeing the entirety of her debut adventure would be a lot of fun. This story concerns a covert invasion of Earth by the Cybermen, first through the infiltration of cybermats to on to the Silver carrier, a ship bound for the space station known as the Wheel and later through the Cybermen themselves, as chilling as they were in Tomb Of The Cybermen, lurking in the shadows of dimly lit corridors. We also have a space walk - similar perhaps to the deflector dish battle of Star Trek: First Contact? - though albeit in a much lower budget. By all reports it€™s a tad long (perhaps it should have stuck with four episodes), but there seems to be a lot of fun to be had with the Cybermen at the best, killing the hapless crew as they launch their invasion. And for, that€™s all I need for this mostly missing adventure. So, are you intrigued? Are there other stories that should feature prominently on this list? Would you be as excited as me to see the epic scale of The Daleks€™ Master Plan or the terrors of Fury From The Deep? And are these rumours true? Or have the recent BBC denials crushed all our hopes?
