10. The Mystery Begins

Fans were first introduced to Missy at the end of the feature-length Series 8 premiere, Deep Breath, and it's safe to say that the Half-Face Man was just as confused as the rest of us when he died and woke up under the watchful eye of a twirling psychopath who looked like Mary Poppins. The short scene, as intriguing as it was, told us next to nothing about who she really was, apart from the fact that she had somehow been watching all of the preceding drama and referred to the Doctor as her "boyfriend". She also liked his new Scottish accent, too, which... you know, was useful to know. Fans had been given their first insight into 'heaven' but it was going to be a long time until they found out what it really was...
