Doctor Who: 10 More Actresses Who Could Play The 12th Doctor
10. Maggie Smith
Her Companion: Alfie Enoch Much in the style of casting William Russell as Ian Chesterton to do the action scenes in William Hartnell's place I've cast William Russell's son (and Maggie Smith's Harry Potter co-star) Alfie Enoch as an able-bodied companion to run down those corridors for her. I don't know if he is a particularly great actor, to be honest the role of 'Dean Thomas' isn't a particularly challenging one but he'd look the part and wouldn't outshine Smith in her pivotal scenes. Her Master: Dame Judy Dench Who wouldn't like to see Dame Judy play someone really horrid after cold but well-meaning M? I know I would and a 'Last of the Timelords' type confrontation between these two legendary actresses would be an utter treat for all. Her Doctor Maggie Smith has power and complete command of the screen. She proved her wit and charisma in classic film 'The Prime of Ms Jean Brodie' and continues to prove that she still has what it takes in roles like Professor McGonagall and the Dowager from Downton Abbey. She would be a Doctor akin to William Hartnell's in age but even more akin to Matt Smith in pure conniving brilliance. She'd be the greatest Doctor of them all.
